Which Swisse fish oil is which? Seven bottles, one shelf

Seven omega-3 bottles, from RM 0.43 to RM 4.73 a capsule in our Malaysia store. The number on the front separates them, not the one most people compare.

Three Swisse omega-3 bottles standing on a cream studio floor, the high strength wild fish oil, the odourless 1000mg and the one made for children

Seven bottles on our Malaysia shelf are omega-3. Lined up, they differ by a number on the front and a word or two before it, and the cheapest works out at RM 0.43 a capsule against RM 4.73 for the dearest.

An eleven-fold spread on one shelf looks alarming until you read what the numbers are counting. So here is the shelf, in order, with the arithmetic done.

Open the product comparison tool to compare the adult 1000mg, high-strength and concentrate formulas side by side. The tool shows products carried in your selected country; the price examples below are a dated Malaysia snapshot.

What omega-3 products does Swisse make?

Seven, in our Malaysia store, and they fall into three groups rather than seven separate decisions.

ProductPackPer capsule
Odourless Fish Oil 1000mg400 capsulesRM 0.43
Odourless Fish Oil 1000mg200 capsulesRM 0.50
Ultiboost Odourless High Strength Wild Fish Oil 1500mg400 capsulesRM 0.68

Ultiboost 4 X Strength Omega-3 Wild Fish Oil 1800mg Concentrate60 capsulesRM 3.60
Ultiboost High Strength Deep Sea Krill Oil 1000mg30 soft capsulesRM 4.73

Read that column knowing it is not a like-for-like comparison, which is the whole point of the next section. Prices are our Malaysia store on 18 September 2026 and differ by country.

What should I compare beyond the number on the bottle?

Fish oil weight and the amounts of EPA and DHA are different measurements. Two bottles with similar numbers on the front do not necessarily contain the same formula.

The matched Swisse Australia ingredient lists show the following amounts per soft capsule:

FormulaOil or concentrateEPADHAEPA + DHA
Odourless Wild Fish OilNatural fish oil 1 g180 mg120 mg300 mg
Odourless High Strength Wild Fish OilNatural fish oil 1.5 g270 mg180 mg450 mg
Odourless 4 x Strength Wild Fish Oil ConcentrateConcentrated fish omega-3 triglycerides 1.8 g720 mg486 mg1,206 mg

EPA + DHA here is the sum of those two listed ingredients, not a statement of total omega-3. The values describe a formula; they do not establish which supplement or dose is suitable for you. Check the complete directions, warnings and the pack you receive.

Sources checked on 23 September 2026: Odourless Wild Fish Oil, High Strength Wild Fish Oil and 4 x Strength Concentrate.

Krill oil has a different source, while the children's product has its own directions. Neither is included in the adult fish oil comparison tool. Price alone cannot explain the differences between these products.

A Swisse Ultiboost Odourless High Strength Wild Fish Oil bottle on a cream studio floor
High Strength prints 1500mg; the plain Odourless bottles print 1000mg.

Which fish oil pack size is better value?

Where the strength matches, the answer is clean. The 1000mg Odourless comes as 200 capsules at RM 100.00 and as 400 at RM 170.00. That is RM 0.50 against RM 0.43 a capsule, so the bigger bottle is 15% cheaper per capsule for the identical formula.

Fifteen percent is a real saving and it is also the smallest one we found across the range. On Swisse magnesium the same comparison is 40 to 57%, which we wrote up in does the bigger pack cost less.

Pack size is worth a second thought on this shelf for a reason that has nothing to do with money. Four hundred capsules taken one a day is more than a year of the same product, and the expiry date on the pack is the figure that decides whether that is sensible. It moves with the batch, so it is printed rather than published.

What does "odourless" mean on a Swisse label?

It describes how the oil has been processed, and it appears on five of the seven bottles on this shelf. It is a property of the product rather than a range word, which is why it turns up in the middle of a name rather than straight after Swisse.

If you want the map of where each word in a Swisse name sits and what it is doing there, we wrote what the range names mean. The short version for this shelf: Ultiboost is the range, High Strength and 4 X Strength are strength descriptions, Odourless is processing, and the milligram figure is the formulation.

Four of those five words are on some bottles and not others, and none of them is interchangeable with the others.

Which of them has to be there at all is not the brand's decision. Swisse is an Australian brand, and what a medicine label must carry and where it must sit is set by Australia's regulator (the TGA on what is on a medicine label). The AUST L number on the back identifies that exact product on Australia's register (the TGA on AUST numbers).

How do I choose between them?

Three questions, in order, and the shelf collapses to one or two bottles.

  1. Fish or krill? That splits six from one.
  2. Which formula? Compare the ingredient list, including EPA and DHA per capsule, and read the directions and warnings. Do not select a dose from the front-of-pack weight.
  3. Which pack? Once the first two are settled, and only then, compare per capsule between the sizes of that exact product.

For children there is one product, Kids Fish Oil, in a 60-capsule pack, and it is not a smaller version of an adult bottle.

If you would rather answer questions than read labels, the finder asks about form, age and what you are already taking, then builds a routine from what your own store carries. What is in each product, described from a named public source, is on Ingredients A to Z.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between Swisse fish oil and krill oil?

They come from different sources. Krill oil is from krill and fish oil is from fish, and we stock one krill product against five fish oils. The krill comes in a 30-capsule pack, the smallest on the shelf.

Is the 400-capsule Swisse fish oil cheaper?

Per capsule, yes. The 1000mg Odourless bottle is RM 0.43 a capsule at 400 against RM 0.50 at 200 in our Malaysia store, so the bigger bottle is 15% cheaper per capsule for the same formula.

What does 4 X Strength mean on a Swisse box?

It is a strength description on the front of the Ultiboost Omega-3 Concentrate, which prints 1800mg. It sits in the name where High Strength sits on other bottles, and it tells you the formulation differs from the plain 1000mg one.

Does odourless mean it is a different fish oil?

Odourless describes processing rather than range or strength, and it appears on five of the seven bottles we stock. A bottle can be both odourless and high strength, and several are.

How many Swisse omega-3 products are there?

Seven in our Malaysia store: five fish oils, one krill oil and one for children. Availability differs by country, so the number on your store's shelf may be lower.
